You keep Open Dental. This is an add-on, not a replacement — nothing about your database, your workflow, or your team's training changes.
Record at the chair or narrate after. Speech is transcribed live with a model tuned for dental vocabulary, so composite, SRP, articaine and tooth numbers come back right.
You get a structured clinical note, not a transcript dump. Edit anything before it goes anywhere — nothing reaches Open Dental until you approve it.
The approved note files into the patient's chart in Open Dental, dated to the visit, with the treating provider named on the note.
Setup connects through Open Dental's API and eConnector. There is no server to install, no conversion, and nothing to export or re-import.
No. That is the entire point of this page. Open Dental stays your system of record and your chart stays where it is — this writes into it.
Into the patient's chart in Open Dental, dated to the visit, with the treating provider named on the note itself. It is a normal chart entry in your own database, readable by anyone on your team with or without us.
No — not for dictation. The visit is transcribed as you speak and the dictation audio is discarded; it is never written to disk, to cloud storage, or to a database. Only the text is kept, and only for 24 hours, so an interrupted recording can be picked back up. The finished note is permanent. (Separate consent-based recording features, which a practice turns on deliberately, do store audio — those are opt-in and distinct from dictation.)
The transcript keeps saving as you speak, so a dropped connection, a closed tab or an interruption mid-visit does not lose the words. You are offered the recording back and can carry on where it stopped.
Yes. Protected health information is encrypted at rest at the field level, and we sign a BAA before any patient data is exchanged.
Yes. Hygiene and doctor notes have different shapes, and the note adapts to the appointment's procedure codes rather than forcing one template on both.
If you already run Open Dental and the notes are what is keeping you at the office after hours, this closes that gap without touching anything else. Your chart, your data, your PMS — one fewer hour of charting.

Dictate the visit, review a structured note, approve it, and it files into the patient's chart in Open Dental. Built on Open Dental's API — you keep the system you already run.
